Issue Details

  • I have an Academic Site License and my students use Linux or Mac operating systems. How can I access macOS and Linux versions of the NI software included in my agreement?
  • How do I activate the software from my Academic Site License for Mac and Linux OS?

Solution

  • If you are the software administrator, you need to register your serial number to your ni.com account. Once you have registered it, download the software. This installer may be distributed among the students who have requested this software for the respective operating systems.
  • If you are a student, please contact your software administrator and request this installer.

Additional Information

As National Instruments is moving away from physical media, software administrators can now register their license's serial number with their ni.com account and download relevant software from NI's website. For macOS/Linux users, this software can then be distributed by the software administrator.

It is possible to get the media from the school's software group. In the past, NI would ship the media along with the ASL software for older versions of Mac OS
