Issue Details

All computers are unaware when a USB device is connected to the front USB port. How do I solve this problem?

The first step to resolve this issue is to connect the USB device to the USB port on the back of your computer. The USB port on the front of your computer is designed for ease of connection for small equipment such as flash drives and small cameras.
In general, the USB port on the front of the computer is not designed for use with high bandwidth equipment such as external hard drives, MP3 players and data acquisition equipment. The USB port on the back of the computer can provide the current and bandwidth needed to run NI equipment. You can also use a USB extension cable to reduce the inconvenience of using the rear port. If there is a problem with current distribution, please use a USB hub with external power to correct this problem.
Another part to consider is to ensure that the device driver is up to date. You can find the driver for your NI device in theĀ NI Drivers Page. Please download the appropriate drivers for your USB equipment and restart your computer.
