Using NI MAX Test Panel for Data Acquisition (DAQ) Modules in Real-Time System

Issue Details

I have a Real Time PXI System with data acquisition modules and a Windows deployment PC. In my deployment PC I have the following software installed:

• LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 
• PXI Platform Services Run Time
• DAQmx Run Time

Before delivering the system, I would like to test the data acquisition through NI-MAX test panel. The PXI modules are recognized in NI-MAX but I do not see the test panel option. How can I use the test panel? 

Solution

You have the following options to access the DAQ modules on your Real Time System through the test panel.

• Use your development PC, which should include the DAQmx driver
• Install the full DAQmx driver  on your deployment PC. Or you can install the DAQmx Run-Time with Configuration Support through installers mentioned in this KnowledgeBase

Additional Information

• The NI-MAX test panel is intended for use during development and/or for troubleshooting issues without programming. Therefore, DAQmx Run Time driver will not have this capability.
• If you have XNET modules in your PXI Real Time System, you also need the full XNET driver to access the Bus Monitor.
