Issue Details

I would like to know if it is necessary to connect the RS+/- inputs of the NI 9237 when performing a strain gauge measurement or if I need to enable or disable the remote sensing.

Solution

It is not necessary to connect this terminals for the hardware to make the acquisition. However, it is recommended to use them on half- and full-bridge configurations, because they will reduce the error coming from the excitation leads. The remote sensing capabilities of the module is not software accesible and will be available when wired.

Additional Information

RS terminals are the ones used for remote sensing. Remote Sensing enables the module to automatically make corrections to the errors introduced to the measurements by the excitation leads and the gain related to it. You can see more information about remote sensing on the first section of Remote Sensing and Shunt Calibration
