An Error Occurred While Receiving Data from the Network in NI Package Manager

Issue Details

When installing software from NI Package Manager, I get the following error message:

There was a problem executing your request. An error occurred while receiving data from the network. (Recv failure: Connection was reset). Please check your Internet connection and try again.
 

 

 
How can I troubleshoot this issue?

Solution

  1. Check your Internet connection.
  2. This error can occur when a firewall or antivirus software is blocking communication between NI Package Manager and a certain port. Follow this document to configure your firewall for NI software. If possible, consult your IT department to allow for permission through your firewall and antivirus software, or disable them temporarily.
