Issue Details

  • I am trying to switch a relay with my PXI-651x card, however, I am not being able to switch the relay properly.
  • I do not know how should I wire the relay to my hardware to be able to control it.

Solution

In order to control a relay with a PXI-651x card you should wire the relay according to the output diagrams of the PXI-651x User Manual.
The relay should take the place of the load. To limit the output current you might needt to use an external resistor in parallel to the load. See NI 651x Specifications document for more information.

Additional Information

To switch a relay turn on and off the respective digital outputs either in the Measurement and Automation Explorer with a test panel or with LabVIEW using NI-DAQmx functionality.
