Issue Details

I'm using Front Panel Data Binding to connect to NPSV (Network Published Shared Variables), which are deployed on a different target. After running my VI, Data Binding of the control does not work properly - value shown does not reflect the value of the NSPV and the triangle located on the right side of the control has a red color. After hovering over the control the following error appears:

Error 0x0000002A connecting to:

Solution

It is possible that while creating and configuring your Shared Variable you have selected the Single Writer option in Shared Variable Properties. In that case the Shared Variable Engine restricts writing just to a single VI on a single computer. If your target already writes into that Shared Variable all other connections will not be allowed - including Front Panel Data Binding.

To resolve the issue, you may uncheck the Single Writer Option:
  1. Right-click on Shared Variable in the Project explorer and select Properties
  2. Navigate to Network Tab
  3. Uncheck the Single Writer Option
  4. Click OK and Deploy you variable to the target.

Additional Information

Having multiple writers may result in race conditions.
