Error: "These Activation Codes Do Not Correspond to Any of the Products You Are Activating"

Updated Aug 2, 2023

Reported In

Software

  • NI License Manager

Issue Details

I am trying to activate software on my computer and I receive the error "These activation codes do not correspond to any of the products you are activating" in NI License Manager when I used an activation code.

Solution

  • If you have access to the internet, you can bypass using activation codes and use your serial number to activate the software in question.
    • Activation codes are useful in situations when you have no internet access, but they require inputs like the version of software you are using and your computer ID. If either of these inputs is incorrect, you will receive this error.
  • Verify that the software you are trying to activate in NI License Manager matches the software used to generate the activation code. Both the name and the version need to match.
  • Ensure that the software you are activating with the activation code is successfully installed on your machine.
  • Verify that the Computer ID used to generate the activation code matches the one on your system.
  • Verify you deactivate any trial or evaluation versions in NI License Manager before activating the full version.
  • In case you attempt to activate NI software that is installed on a virtual machine check that your virtual machine software is set to be correctly allowed to access the network. Typically, this is the 'bridgeor 'bridge-modesetting.
  • In case you are activating multiple products try each activation code one by one to see which one is causing the error.
  • Make sure that you are using NI License Manager version 3.7 or higher. Activations codes will not work on 3.6 or earlier.
If after verifying that the activate codes match the software names and versions of the software you are trying to activate you are still running into this issue, it is possible that the license file for the software is corrupt. Use one of the following methods to fix this corruption.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the software then try activation again.
  • Remove the license file and repair or force reinstall the software.
    1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\License Manager\Licenses.
    2. Find the license corresponding to the software you want to activate and remove or rename it.
    3. Repair or Force Reinstall the Software - this will replace the old license file.
    4. Try to activate the software again using the same activation code.

Additional Information

A common cause of license file corruption comes from imaging one computer to another. The computer that is imaged with another computer's image may show this problem.

Note: Toolkits and drivers will need to be downloaded and installed after LabVIEW or the development environment you've installed.
