Issue Details

I have multiple DeviceNet slave devices. How many National Instruments DeviceNet Interface cards do I need to have my system act as a DeviceNet master?

Solution

The National Instruments DeviceNet cards (PXI 8532 and PCI 8532) provide an interface for your system to act as a DeviceNet master to a DeviceNet network. If all of the devices in your DeviceNet network meet the DeviceNet specifications, you can connect up to 64 devices to the network. One DeviceNet card can be used as a master for all of the slaves in the network.

Additional Information

See the NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet Cabling Help for more information on cabling and termination for systems with multiple devices.
