Issue Details

NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) crashes when I launch it. I see the error message below:

Exception: Access violation (0xC0000005) at EIP=0x04C27BC9

How can I solve this issue?

Solution

Try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve this error:

Confirm LabVIEW, toolkits and modules, and drivers were installed in the correct order
Force reinstall recently updated or installed drivers to ensure corrupted files are overwritten
Run the ResetNIConfig executable to remove database corruption
Try to repair NI MAX using NI Package Manager
Upgrade NI MAX by installing the latest version of NI System Configuration
Verify all your computer drivers are up to date in the Device Manager
As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall all relevant software.

Additional Information

An access violation occurs when NI MAX attempts to load a file and the file is corrupted, does not exist, or MAX does not have permission to access the file. When opening MAX, there are several files that are loaded, many of which are dependent on the drivers you have installed.
