Will Deleting The National Instruments Download Folder Contents Affect My Installed NI Software?

Issue Details

After downloading and installing NI software I noticed a folder named National Instruments Downloads in my C drive directory. As I have limited disk space, can I delete the contents of the folder without affecting my installed software?

Solution

Deleting the contents of this folder will not affect your installed software.

Additional Information

This folder is the default directory to which the NI Installer extracts the files required to install your products. It contains the installation files for the NI software that you have installed in the past, so if you have finished with installation of the software deleting its contents will not cause any issues.

Please ensure you have finished installing all your products before deleting this, as you will need to re-extract the files from the installer to finish installation if you do so.
