Issue Details

We would like the CompactRIO (cRIO) to time-sync with a NIST time server. We have already configured the INI file using this KB. However, the time shown on the cRIO accessed through the 'NI Web-based Configuration and Monitoring' is drifting ahead of the real time. Entering a NIST IP address and rebooting does not fix the problem.

If the cRIO time drifts from that of the NIST server, then the connection is not being established properly. Here are some steps to try:
  • Use a different NIST IP address
  • Try using the TimeSync for SNTP executable
  • Test the same configuration with another cRIO
  • Disable any network securities to allow communication with the NIST servers
  • Use a different network
