NI-9694 Cannot Run in Interactive Mode After Fuse Tripped

Updated Mar 20, 2018

Issue Details

The 750mA fuse on the NI-9694 RMC was tripped, when the fuse was replaced, the device was functional again. However, when I try to erase the FPGA Flash, it returns operation succeeded but I can see the code is still on there because it is still sampling when power cycled. Also when I try to run it in interactive mode, it tells me it cannot because the FPGA is "in configuration or discovery mode".

Solution

1. Reset Configuration Data (go to NI MAX --> Tools --> Reset configuration Data
2. Reset the NI 9694 and reinstall all the software on it.
3. Re-compile the project after doing the reset on NI MAX and the device.
