cDAQ Reserved by Another Host in NI MAX

Issue Details

I am trying to use my cDAQ chassis, but I cannot get access to my cDAQ in NI MAX. When I try to access my cDAQ, I encounter a message which states that: 'the chassis is already in use by another host computer on the same network, you cannot run any measurement tasks on the chassis'.

How can I fix this issue and get control of my cDAQ chassis?

Solution

If you are receiving a message saying that the chassis is being reserved by another host, the solution is to reserve the chassis. You can do this by right clicking on the chassis and selecting Reserve Chassis, which terminates any tasks being run by another host machine. Alternatively, you can use the Reserve/Unreserve Chassis button highlighted below.
 

Additional Information

In addition, please check that you have DAQmx Runtime with Configuration Support installed. You will not be able to reserve a chassis with just DAQmx Runtime installed.
