Issue Details

  • I previously used the LabVIEW PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit, and at the time, it was in a separate installation from LabVIEW. Where can I find the PID and Fuzzy Logic VIs now? Do I need a separate installation?
  • I know some versions of LabVIEW or the Real-Time Module include the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit with their installation. How does the licensing and installation work with LabVIEW, the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, and the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit?

Solution

With Respect to LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI

The LabVIEW PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit is a LabVIEW add-on that was originally a toolkit purchased separately from LabVIEW. It was installed and licensed separately through its 2013 release.
  • In LabVIEW 2014 and later, the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit is included natively within LabVIEW Full and Professional Development Systems and does not require a separate license, installation, or activation. This is also true for LabWindows/CVI 2014 and later.
    • Note: LabVIEW Base Development System does not include the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit.
  • For LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI 2013 and earlier, the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit was installed and licensed separately.

Installation

Activation

Since the introduction of the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, a license for the module has always included within it a license for the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit. If you have purchased the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, and you need to activate the toolkit, simply use the serial number of the module to activate the PID and Fuzzy Logic Toolkit.

Additional Information

In LabVIEW, the PID VIs and Fuzzy Logic VIs can be found in the Controls and Simulation category of the Functions Palette.
