Issue Details

I'm trying to find the right driver for my NI PCI-6255 device. The DAQmx Base driver for Linux on the NI site doesn't have this device listed in the driver's readme under supported devices.

Solution

The device isn't listed on the readme, because the PCI-6255 is not supported in DAQmx Base for Linux at the moment.

Below are a few alternatives to consider:

  1. Switch to a computer with a Windows operating system, which supports the PCI-6255 on the full NI-DAQmx driver.
  2. Use a similar acquisition card that is supported on Linux (PCI-6254 or 6259, for example).
  3. Download the NI Measurement Hardware Driver Development Kit and develop a custom driver for the device, using the suggested work around here.
