Solution

  • The length of the name you choose for the file to build can cause this issue. Reduce the number of characters in the file name.
  • This issue can come from installs of beta LabVIEW NXG versions being installed on the same computer as a released version of the software. The crash occurs due to referencing files in the NXG root directory that have been updated in the beta version and often renamed. The following steps should prevent this error from appearing, allowing NXG to function correctly:
  1. Remove LabVIEW NXG using NI Package Manager;
  2. Remove NI Package Manager;
  3. Remove any supporting NXG files in the root directory, removing any trace of LabVIEW NXG from the machine.
  4. Re-install NI Package Manager, and in turn, install LabVIEW NXG.
In the event the error still occurs after the steps described above, it is advisable to carry out a complete removal of all NI Software from the machine, or a re-image, and then re-install LabVIEW NXG from scratch.
