Issue Details

After Installing LabVIEW NXG 2.x and running it, the NXG startup page shows the packages loading but crashes shortly after. At no point does NXG 2.x open and allow use of any of the LabVIEW features.

The LabVIEW NXG Crash reporter states LabVIEW NXG 2.0.0 encountered a problem and needs to close, as shown here:

After this, LabVIEW NXG 2.x completely shuts down and opening it again results in the same error.

Solution

The installation of any NXG version (e.g NXG 2.0 beta) prior to the release of 2.0 on the same PC will cause this error. To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

1. Remove all the National Instruments software.
2. Delete the National Instruments folder from the Program Files directory - C:\Program Files\National Instruments
3. Delete the National Instruments folder from the Program Data directory - C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments
4. Delete the National Instruments folder from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local
5. Remove NI Package Manager.
7. Install NI Package Manager.
8. Install LabVIEW NXG 2.x
9. Install any other NI software previously on the computer.

Removing the folders/files above will ensure that any existing National Instruments files/packages are removed from the PC. This removes any dependencies/corrupt files that NXG 2.x will try to load up during install/start-up.
