Issue Details

I am planning to convert a qualified desktop or industrial PC into a dedicated real-time hardware target. So I was looking at the available licensing options at the National Instruments website. I came across following licensing options:
  • LabVIEW Real-Time ETS Deployment License Bundle for Standard PC's (Option1) - PN: 779751-03
  • LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License for Standard PC's- ETS RTOS (Option2) - PN: 777849-35
What is the difference between Standard and Bundle Real-Time Deployment Licenses?

Solution

The requirements for a using a desktop PC as a LabVIEW Real-Time target are detailed in Requirements for Desktop PCs as LabVIEW Real-Time Targets. The most common incompatibility is Ethernet chipset. Configuring your desktop PC as a LabVIEW Real-Time target can provide a flexible, low-cost way to achieve the reliability and determinism needed for your application.

Option 1: If your current PC is incompatible or if you plan on purchasing a new PC to convert into a real-time target, purchase the Real-Time ETS Desktop Bundle, which includes a LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License and supported Ethernet card.

Option 2: If you have a compatible PC, purchase the LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License for Standard PCs, which includes a LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License. The supported Ethernet card is Not Included in this.

Additional Information

A deployment license is required for distributing applications developed using a particular software product. You must purchase one deployment license for each target computer on which the application will run.
