Issue Details

I am getting driver errors when viewing my SCXI-1600 in either an SCXI-1000 or SCXI-1001 chassis in NI MAX. Is the SCXI-1600 compatible with Windows 7/10 64-bits?

Solution

The SCXI-1600 drivers are not compatible with the Windows 7 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bits, as outlined in the NI-DAQmx readme. As a workaround:

You can run the SCXI-1600 in the Windows XP Compatibility mode in Windows 7, as described by the Microsoft resource Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows.
If the machine is just for development or programming, an alternative option would be to create a Windows Virtual Machine with a supported 32-bits Operating System. Take into account that virtual machines are not officially supported, so this is why they are not recommended to work directly with the hardware.

Note: The latest version of NI-DAQmx that supports SCXI hardware is 19.0.

Additional Information

You still can use other SCXI modules and chassis, such as SCXI-1000 and SCXI-1001, with Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10.
