Issue Details

I am trying to communicate to LabVIEW from my PLC, and need an EDS file for my PLC in order to send commands to LabVIEW. Where can I find an EDS file for the NI software?

Solution

There isn't a specific EDS file that is available for the software. Rather, the NI software is represented as a Generic Ethernet Module. Most PLCs have some option such as "Generic EDS File" or "Generic Module" that you can use. In addition, you can also communicate to the device via Explicit messaging, which does not require an EDS file.
