Issue Details

Looking at the datasheet for the NI 9775 I notice there is a specification for the amount of onboard memory it has available. What is this memory used for and what benefits does it provide?

Solution

The onboard memory in the NI 9775 is there to allow for data acquisition at higher data rates. The NI 9775 can store samples into onboard memory at up to 20 MS/s then transfers the data to the chassis at a slower rate when configured to use record mode. For more information about the uses for onboard memory, see the White Paper: The Benefits of Deep Onboard Memory
