Error -200088 in SignalExpress

Issue Details

My SignalExpress project shows Error -200088 and I'm unable to acquire any data. If I try to configure my acquisition step, I can't find any devices or channels. SignalExpress is not showing measurements anymore.

Error -200088: Task specified is invalid or does not exist.
 

Solution

1. Check that your device is powered on, and connected to your computer.
2. Reset the NI MAX Database: How to Fix or Restore the NI MAX Database File
3. After rebooting your computer, if you still get the error -200088 (or you're unable to find the NI MAX software in your computer), force reinstall the NI-DAQmx driver: Fix Corrupt or Non-Working NI Software with Force Reinstall
4. Follow the guide Can't Find DAQ Device in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) if the device is not recognized by your computer in NI MAX.

Additional Information

The NI-DAQmx driver can get corrupted for multiple reasons. Error -200088 refers to the software not being able to find the task in the NI MAX database, which can relate to: the database being corrupted, or the drivers are missing. If you changed to another computer and you just installed SignalExpress, it's possible you're missing the NI-DAQmx driver to work with your NI data acquisition devices.

NI introduced DAQExpress and FlexLogger™ for the new generation of Data Acquisition software. It's highly recommended to consider them for future applications.
