Issue Details

One of the Front Panel LEDs indicating voltage level (+3.3 V, 5 V, +12 V, –12 V) is flashing different colors, what does this mean?

Solution

To see the specific meaning of the Front Panel LED status you are seeing on your chassis, you should check the user manual specific to your chassis model.

In general, if the Front Panel LED is changing colors one of your chassis voltage levels is performing out of range. You can confirm this by Monitoring the Voltage on your PXI Chassis.

If you confirm your device is performing out of appropriate voltage range, you have two options:
  1. If you have a Power Supply Shuttle that is meant to be removed, you can call in to National Instruments and request a replacement power shuttle.
  2. If we do not provide a replacement shuttle, or your device is not on this list, you will need to send your device in to National Instruments for repairs.
