How do I remotely monitor the voltage on the backplane of a PXI Chassis?

Solution

Many National Instruments PXI chassis support remote CompactPCI voltage monitoring and inhibiting through a male 9-pin D-Sub connector, named DB-9, located on the rear panel. To see if your chassis supports voltage monitoring and control, refer to its manual or the related documents below.

The following table shows the remote inhibit and voltage monitoring connector pinout for the above models. Other chassis models may have different connections.

         D-Sub         Signal
1Logic Ground
2+5 VDC
3Reserved
4+3.3 VDC
5Inhibit (Active Low)
