Issue Details

When writing a variable to a TestStand ASCII (.txt) report the comments of the variables appear on it.

The following picture shows the Variables window. Notice the comment on the Comment column.

The following picture shows the ASCII report with the comments included.

Solution

By default, TestStand will add the comments of the variables to the ASCII report. To avoid TestStand from adding this information to the report, it is necessary to modify the Report Generation configuration file.

  1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 2016 (32-bit)\Cfg\ModelPlugins

  2. Open the file called ResultProcesing.cfg

  3. Go to line number 2309, <IncludeStepResultComments classname='Bool'>. This attribute is used to enable/disable the comments of the variables in the ASCII (.txt) report.

  4. In the next line change the boolean value to false, <value>true</value>

  5. Save and close the file.

Be aware that this will remove the comments of all the variables from the ASCII (.txt) report.
