How can I get the Firmware (.FOE file) for the NI-9145?

The firmware files are publicly available in the downloadable driver packages. Due to the changes NI Package Manager brought in how you download and install the software packages, the way you can acquire the firmware files will differ depending on the version of the NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT driver you are using.
 

NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT version 19.0 and newer:

1. Find and download the NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT Driver on our Download page
2. Install the driver
3. You will find the firmware files in the C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\NI-IndCom for EtherCAT\ folder.

 

NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT version 18.5 and older:

1. Find and download the correct NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT Driver on our Download page
2. Execute the file to extract its contents. Note the path it is being extracted to (normally C:\National Instruments Downloads\NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT\).

 

4. Cancel the Setup itself if you don't want to install the driver.

 

5. Locate the extracted folder (normally in C:\National Instruments Downloads\NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT\). There you find the desired FoE firmware files:
