Issue Details

After installing NI-Serial on a 64-bit Windows OS, the Add Serial ENET utility is not present. Is there a way to use the ENET Serial device on a 64-bit Windows OS?

I do not have a 32 bit OS to configure NI ENET devices, how can I still configure the Ethernet settings?

Solution

NI-Serial currently does not support the ENET devices on Windows 10 x64, Windows 8 x64, Windows 7 x64, Windows Vista x64, or Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. As a result you will not see the Add Serial ENET utility in the start menu. Additionally, NI-Serial 14.0 does not support Serial ENET devices whatsoever.

Additional Information

You can access the ENET Serial device through NI-VISA. The directions can be found in the KnowledgeBase article Can I Use the ENET-232 or ENET-485 on Systems with VISA Support Only?
