Want to use NI MAX to configure the camera on my deployment machine.

Issue Details

I can't see my USB 3.0 framegrabber in NI MAX on my deployment computer, but I can see it fine on my development machine. I built an installer and included the IMAQ and IMAQdx Runtime, so why can't I see my camera?

Solution

In order to build an installer for your deployment computer, you will want to include the full Vision Acquisition Software, and not just the runtime engine. To include the full driver, you will want to:
  1. Go under Additional Installers and uncheck: Automatically select recommended installers.
  2. You will also want to uncheck: Only display runtime installers.
  3. Select NI Vision Runtime 20XX, NI-IMAQ X.X, and NI-IMAQdx X.X (not the runtime versions, these will be automatically selected).
  4. If needed, select NI-IMAQ I/O X.X
To include NI MAX in your installer:
  1. Follow the steps above
  2. Also include NI System Configuration Runtime X.X. If you look at the description, you will see that NI Measurement & Automation Explorer X.X is included.
