Issue Details

We renewed our NI Academic Site License. This new license has been loaded in the server and the client computers can activate LabVIEW but not Multisim.

Solution

The software included in the NI Academic Site License varies depending on the chosen licensing option. The Multisim Option and LabVIEW Option may have been purchased independently so if you previously had access to both, and you no longer can install software from one of those two options, it probably means that:

  • The renewal was done only for one of the options. In this case, the old versions of the issued software can still be used, but you will need a license file to be specifically modified to this purpose.
  • If each option had its own contract, you may need a Custom License File to include the software from both servers.

You can contact National Instruments Support or email agreements@ni.com to get help generating a new license file including the required software.

Additional Information

If you have different NI Academic Site License options in different contracts, it may be possible to merge them in order to use a single license file. Send an email to agreements@ni.com to ask whether this can be done.
