Vision Assistant Code Not Working on RoboRIO

Issue Details

I am using the NI Vision Assistant to generate a computer vision program. The program works in the Vision Assistant, but when I translate the program to a LabVIEW script and deploy it to the roboRIO, it does not work properly. Why?

Solution

  • As a reference, use our Image Processing in LabVIEW for FRC tutorial to make sure you have generated your LabVIEW code properly.
  • The code generated by the Vision Assistant is configured for use on Windows, not NI Linux Real-Time. As such, make sure the file path to your test image follows the proper syntax as outlined in Working with File Paths on Real-Time Targets.
  • The Vision Assistant may have generated a VI called "IVA Get Alternative Path" somewhere along the reference to your test image. You may want to remove this VI, as it append additional sub directories to your test image file path. 
  • Ensure your code is located on your real-time target, not on your computer.
