FTP Transfer Corrupts my TDMS File

Issue Details

When I transfer my TDMS file with FTP in LabVIEW, I am getting corruption in my file. Is there a way to prevent TDMS from corrupting my file?

Solution

On the FTP blocks in LabVIEW, there is an option to transfer files in binary mode.



You can see this option as a boolean coming from the bottom of the VI on the picture above.

Change this input from the default of False to True on whichever FTP block you are using in your code.

Now, try to transfer your file again and check for corruption.
 

Additional Information

TDMS is a binary data type, so it can be less likely to experience corruption through FTP if it is transferred as binary rather than in the default ASCII form.
