There Was a Problem Updating the Settings in NI MAX With a PXIe Controller

Issue Details

Whenever I try to open or use NI MAX with my PXIe-8821 I receive an error message that says "There was a problem updating the settings" and the operation times out causing NI MAX to crash.

Solution

This problem has been resolved through the following:
  1.  Remove all of the modules in the PXIe chassis that are not the controller and restarting the controller. 
  2. Reboot the PXIe controller.
  3. Try opening NI MAX. 
  4. Shut down the PXIe controller.
  5. Add in the other modules into your chassis.
  6. Reset the MAX Database.
