Solution

This error is caused by invalid or conflicting licensing. Follow the relevant section below to resolve it.

You are not using NI OPC Servers

NI OPC Servers installed with the LabVIEW DSC Module provide a temporary license for a two-hour evaluation period. You may receive this message if you have the LabVIEW DSC Module but are not using NI OPC Servers. In that case, you can uninstall NI OPC Servers and then will no longer see the message.

You are using NI OPC Servers

  1. First open your root directory ProgramData folder.
    • This folder is hidden so you will need to type it into windows explorer. (Ex: C:\ProgramData)
  2. Navigate to ProgramData\National Instruments\NI OPC Servers\V20[xx]
  3. Locate your "userinfo" XML file and delete this file.
    • It might have a number concatenated to the end of the name (Ex: userinfo4).
  4. After the XML file has been deleted:
  5. It may be necessary to uninstall NI OPC Servers, download NI OPC Servers, and install it again if the force reinstall process fails or if the behaviour persists.
Note: If your NI OPC Servers license is provided by a licensing server such as FlexNet or VLM, contact your software administrator to check that your volume license file includes a valid license for NI OPC Servers.
