Issue Details

My application requires a stack size larger than that granted by LabWindows/CVI. How can I increase the maximum stack size of my LabWindows/CVI application?

Solution

In order to increase the maximum stack size, you can use one of the following methods depending on your version of LabWindows/CVI:
  • In LabWindows/CVI 6.0 or later, the default maximum stack size is 250 KB, but can be increased up to 2 GB. You can change this maximum by going to Options»Build Options and altering the Maximum Stack Size field.
  • In LabWindows/CVI 5.5 or earlier, the maximum stack size allowed is 1 MB. In order to increase the stack size beyond this, you can call editbin.exe manually. This executable is included in Visual C++ Professional and can be called from the command line with the following parameters:

    editbin /stack:[stackSize] [yourExecutable.exe]
