SoftMotion Torque Reading with EtherCAT AKD Drive

Issue Details

I see that there are two different SoftMotion Axis properties: Read Data - Torque and Read Torque - Torque Feedback. Which one should I use with my EtherCAT AKD Drive, and what is the scale of the values?

Solution

For the EtherCAT AKD Drive, you should use the Read Torque - Torque Feedback method. The returned value will be in units of 1/1000 of the rated torque. The following image shows the Read Torque method.
