Use External Reference Signal for NI PXIe-5673E

Issue Details

I want to use external reference signal for NI PXIe-5673E generator. What physical connections should I establish? How should I setup generator to use external reference signal?

Solution

To establish physical connection you may use one of the following options:
  • REF IN/OUT connector on a front panel of NI PXIe-5652 module
  • 10 MHz REF IN connector on a PXI chassis. 
Note: Some PXI(e) chassis may not have reference signal input. Refer to your chassis specification for more information.

To setup 5673E to use external reference signal:
  • In NI-RFSG Soft Front Panel click Device/System button, then choose Reference Click->Ref Clk Source, select appropriate option.
