Issue Details

I am connecting a load cell to my NI-9237 and the values that it is outputting are in mV instead of a scaled factor. How do I set up a scale so that my cRIO reads in scaled values?

Solution

To add scaling to your cRIO 9237:
  1.  Find the NI-9237 module under the chassis in a LabVIEW project
  2. Expand the channels
  3. Right click on the module and select Properties

  1. Then select Scaling from the Shared Variable Properties pop up window

Here you can scale the output values of the channel in order to get the units that are desired.

Additional Information

It is important to note that the 9237 outputs values in mV/V. In order to get millivolts, you must multiply by the excitation voltage. Alternatively you can also use the output of the device and multiply it by the max scale of the load cell in LBs divided by the resolution of the load cell in mV/V.
