How do I create a subpalette in LabVIEW with a Packed Project Library(PPL)?

Solution

  1. Before building your library into a Packed Project Library, create and configure the .mnu file. (Instructions for this process can be found in the Creating Subpalettes in a Palette Set help file)
  2. VIs appearing on your subpalette should be unlocked.
  3. Build the PPL.
  4. Go into Tools>>Advanced>>Edit Palette Set
  5. Right-click on the Functions or Controls palette and select Insert >> Subpalette
  6. Choose the bottom option Link to a palette file in a project library
  7. Navigate to the directory containing the PPL you just built and double click on that Packed Project Library.
  8. Click OK on the next menu and save changes.
