Solution

If you are having trouble communicating with a cDAQ-9172, NI ENET-9163, NI WLS-9163, BNC - 2120 or NI 9233 and have NI-DAQmx 17.6 or newer installed:
  1. Uninstall the latest NI-DAQmx driver.
  2. Install the NI-DAQmx 17.5 driver.
Otherwise:
  1. Perform a reset of the NI-MAX database. This will resolve corruption present in NI-MAX and may allow your device to be communicated with correctly.
  2. Fully uninstall and reinstall NI-DAQmx. This will resolve the corruption present in your current installation of NI-DAQmx that is preventing the device from being seen as supported.
If you are still experiencing issues, review the troubleshooting steps discussed in the cDAQ Module Shows Up as an Unsupported Module in MAX for additional strategies for properly detecting your device.

Additional Information

If you are not sure what version of the DAQmx driver you have installed, you can check by following these steps.

NI-DAQmx readme's contain the most up-to-date information for device and module compatibility with each version.  You can find most NI-DAQmx readmes through the NI-DAQmx Release Notes. Use Finding NI Readmes to help find your readme as well as information on Operating System (OS) support, Application Development Environment (ADE) support, known issues, and bug fixes.
