PXIe-8301 Thunderbolt™ 3 Module Compatibility with the PXIe-1073 Chassis

Issue Details

I have the PXIe-8301 Thunderbolt™ 3 module, but it does not seem to fit into my chassis. Is the PXIe-8301 compatible with the PXIe-1073 chassis?

Solution

The PXIe-8301 Thunderbolt™ 3 is a control module so it is not compatible with chassis that have integrated controllers (such as the PXIe-1073). In order to use the Thunderbolt™ 3, a chassis with an available controller slot (such as the PXIe-1071) must be used.
 

Additional Information

NI officially supports only one chassis configuration. While it may be possible to connect additional chassis, this capability will vary across your specific hardware setup. In addition, be sure your port is specifically a Thunderbolt product, and not just USB-C.
