Issue Details

Where do I find the variables like %application, %company, etc. which are found in Build >> Target Settings >> Version Info? I want to change them because I am building an application for a customer.

Solution

If using LabWindows/CVI 2017 or newer, some of the installation information from Text Information, like %company and %user are loaded from the NI License Manager.
If you want to change the information:
  • Update your User Profile.
  • Logout and Login in the License Manager.
If this does not work, try de deactivate and activate LabWindows/CVI in the NI License Manager.

If using LabWindows/CVI 2009 or newer, some of the installation information from Text Information, like %company and %user are stored in an INI file. This file is located at:

Windows 7/8.1/10/Vista: C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\CVI2009\bin\userinfo.ini
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\CVI2009\bin\userinfo.ini

If using LabWindows/CVI 8.0 or older, the information can be changed by editing the system registry with regedit. The data is in the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\CVI\8.0\User Info where 8.0 is the version of LabWindows/CVI.

Additional Information

Look in Version Info Dialog Box Help for detailed descriptions of what each of the %--- variables represent. You can launch this from the Help button on the dialog itself.
