Issue Details

I would like to use the NI SHC68-H1X38 shielded single ended flying lead cable with NI 6585/6585B in place of SHC68-C68-D3. Is there any compatibility issue between these two cables?

Solution

There is an incompatibility issue. The 6585/B is not mentioned in the supported hardware list of SHC68-H1X38 user manual. In addition to that, pins on the SHC68-H1X38 shielded single ended flying lead cable do not match those on the connector of the 6585/B, meaning that the flying lead marked as DIO0 does not actually connect to pin DIO0 of 6585/B DDC connector(s).

Additional Information

The National Instruments SHC68-C68-D3 cable is used to connect to the NI 6585 LVDS Adapter Module for NI FlexRIO. This cable is also used to connect to the digital data and control (DDC) connector of NI 5421 arbitrary waveform generators. The DDC connector provides access to 16 digital low-voltage differential signals (LVDS) and the sample clock.
