Do Modbus Library Functions Work The Same Way When Switching From One National Instruments Controller To Another?

Issue Details

I am using VIs from Modbus TCP palette that is part of RT module. All this works fine in existing cRIO target 9025. I wanted to know if there are any caveats switching to different target like cRIO 9031 or IC-3121. Would the Modbus Library functions work the same way?

Solution

The underlying code for the Modbus VIs is based on serial communication, and you would not expect the VIs to have changed from controller to controller.  There may be performance changes when moving from older to newer OSes, but this is dependent on the code that is written and not the VIs themselves.  The Modbus Library for the DSC Module will function the same from controller to controller.
