Issue Details

My cRIO has started giving the -65512 error on the scan engine without provocation. This ran fine before and then suddenly throws this error constantly and shuts down my scan engine.

Solution

The error you are experiencing could be due several reasons:
  • It usually because IO Variables using the scan engine cannot complete in time.
  • If you have a large application and are working with many variables the CPU can be overloaded and can cause them to not execute within the scan engine period.
  • If you are working with multiple timed loops and the priority of your deterministic loops is conflicting it can cause this error.
  • If you are using the Set Time VI or changing the Date and Time on the cRIO it can cause this error.
Troubleshooting:
  • Try Resetting the cRIO via the reset button
  • Increase the scan engine period
  • Upgrade your software to 2016 or above, several bugs with this error were fixed in NI's 2016 releases.
  • Redeploy the Scan Engine
