Issue Details

  • We want to use Git to control the versions of a LabVIEW project.
  • My company recently signed up for GitHub Pro and I wanted to use it to manage my LabVIEW projects. How can I do that?

Many companies are moving to Distributed Version Control Systems. Git and GitHub hosting is a very popular option.
  • Check out Getting Started with GitHub and LabVIEW  to learn more about LabVIEW and Git. If you are looking at Git for the first time, this tutorial will point you to a few essential tools to set up a Git repository with GitHub hosting for LabVIEW.
  • If you are already using a version control client application, such as GitHub Desktop or SourceTree, you can still use them to manage your LabVIEW code, but you won't find native integration with LabVIEW.

Additional Information

GitHub is a version control hosting service based on Git. Git is a free and open source distributed version control system that you can use to implement version control. Other services like GitHub are GitLab and Bitbucket.
