Issue Details

On My PXIe controller, I can not upgrade the RAM past 4GB. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps in the user guide. I have also tried upgrading the RAM on another PXIe-8135 and are getting the same results. If I try to put in two RAM sticks in or go from 4GB to 8GB with one RAM stick the system will not boot.

I have put in a third party RAM stick into my PXIe controller, but my controller stills up in NI-MAX as only having 4 GB of RAM

Solution

On the user manual of the PXIe controller, there is a note reminding customers that third party RAM sticks are not guaranteed to work:
National Instruments sells RAM sticks specific to our controllers that are tested and guaranteed to work. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the functionality of the device with RAM from third party companies.
