Issue Details

LabVIEW does not ask for an activation code or serial number after I install on Linux or macOS machines. Will I have full functionality?

Solution

Yes, you will have full functionality of LabVIEW after installing on your macOS or Linux OS machine.

In 2017, NI moved macOS and Linux software distribution to online downloads (as opposed to physical media distribution). Now, users are required to sign in to their ni.com account associated with active SSP for any LabVIEW downloads for these operating systems.

Because an active-SSP serial number has already been associated with your NI.com account, NI has already verified access to LabVIEW for macOS/Linux prior to downloading the software. Therefore, LabVIEW does not need to verify a serial number or activate software after installation on these Unix-based systems.
