Issue Details

I have a LabVIEW code that writes into an Excel file using ActiveX calls. The file is opened as showed below. I would like the user to be able to have a separate session of Excel on the same computer while the code is running. However, the user is interrupted by the window of Excel being used by LabVIEW popping up. How can I prevent this from happening?

Solution

To prevent the Excel window popping up, you would need to change the input wired to the open new instance terminal of Automation Open. It is False by default so you should wire a true constant to it as shown below.

Additional Information

If open new instance is true, LabVIEW creates a new instance of the Automation Refnum. If false (default), LabVIEW tries to connect to an instance of the refnum that is already open, therefore disrupting the session that is already running.
