Issue Details

  • I have a LabVIEW program that uses MathScript nodes. Do I need the MathScript RT Module license to run this executable?
  • I'm calling LabVIEW VIs which use the MathScript node from TestStand, is there a deployment or runtime license needed for these VIs to execute?

You only need the MathScript RT Module license to develop VIs in the LabVIEW development environment. After these VIs are written, you will not need a license to run them in the LabVIEW Runtime environment.

NoteLabVIEW MATLAB®  functions are recommended as an alternative to LabVIEW MathScript Nodes for Windows computers. NI does not recommend LabVIEW MathScript Node for new designs as this structure was deprecated in LabVIEW 2023 Q3.

Additional Information

Although you do not need a license to run VIs which use the MathScript functions in the LabVIEW Runtime environment, there are special considerations to ensure the necessary dependencies are included in the build. There are also certain MathScript functions that will need to be modified to run in a stand-alone application. Refer to the LabVIEW MathScript RT Module Help for more information.
